Lola Mumba was born on July 23rd, 1986 in Lusaka, Zambia, and grew up in South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. She is her mother's only child, and one of her father's many children. Lola showed an admirable passion for the arts as early as 4 years old, winning numerous competitions in the areas of drawing and dance; as well as performed for family and friends Bella_Mumba_pic.jpg chance that she could get. She acted in numerous plays, and sang in the school choir for the majority of her elementary through high school years.

She graduated from Westlake High School, in Ohio, in June 2003, and decided to take an intensive French course at Centre Linguista, in Montreal, Quebec. She completed her program in 5 months, becoming certified in French as 2nd language. She spent her summer in London, UK, before returning to Canada to begin her culinary arts studies at

She received a Grande Diplome de Cuisine in December 2005, and moved to Toronto the evening after her last exam. She began her studies at George Brown College and pursued Hotel Management.

She fast-tracked and completed the program in April, 2007, receiving a Hotel Management Diploma.
After much encouragement from her mother, she pursued a Bachelor of Applied Business-Hospitality Operations degree at George Brown College, and is currently in her 4th year.
She is currently the Toronto Editor-in-Chief for a marketing and lifestyle blog, HeyDoYou, that is based in Toronto, Los Angeles and New York; where she goes by the name, "Bella". Although she stopped singing in high school, she has since gone back to singing, and will soon be performing and sharing her work with the public in the new future.
